OFFSITE CONSTRUCTION SUPERINTENDENT – Upland, CA

 

Lewis Planned Communities, a division of the Lewis Group of Companies, one of the largest real estate developers and property management companies in the nation has an immediate opening for an experienced candidate for the career of Offsite Construction Superintendent.

In your role, you will act as an Owner’s Representative, responsible for quality control and subcontractor coordination for developing master-planned residential, industrial, multifamily, and retail projects throughout the Inland Empire area of Southern California. The position will report to the VP of Land Development Operations.

 

Your duties:  

 

  • Meet with Subcontractor’s field superintendents daily to keep track of work progress and schedule.
  • Inspect and enforce adherence to specified project grading, utilities, offsite infrastructure, site work, etc. details.
  • Report any requested field deviations to Project Managers and the VP of Land Development Operations and recommend course of action.
  • Monitor and report on various City and Public Agency inspections and approvals.
  • Enforce strict adherence to approved plans and specifications with the Subcontractor and installation crews.
  • Participate in department status meetings.
  • Monitor and report on the general progress of projects.
  • Manage construction site and multiple subcontractors' work.
  • Manage construction schedule.
  • Coordinate inspections and approvals of work.
  • Coordinate field surveys and soil inspections.
  • Conduct weekly field construction meetings.

To be successful, your skill sets will include: 

 

  • 7+ years of off-site field experience with a general contractor or land developer supervising and/or working grading, offsite infrastructure, and site work for residential and/or commercial projects.
  • Must be proficient at reading and interpreting architectural & engineering plans.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Microsoft Word and Excel experience required.
  • Web-based project management software experience, such as Procore, is highly preferred.

Note: reliable transportation and valid driver's license are required for driving on company business to project sites and other meetings.
